The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions for the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the large number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some high amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area each day. The company point created for intervention experiences a superior influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it sassa status check complicated for that office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In sassa status this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more means to empower the servicing of all consumers and boost access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
